Order

Do you have a complicated graphic design and you want to be absolutely certain that your catalogs, calendars or flyers will be printed in high quality? Do you have a high-volume printing order or you are planning to order print of particularly valuable materials? You can order digital proofing from the Chroma.pl online printing shop.

Digital proofing – to be sure about the quality of the print

With digital proofing, you can check the colors and compare them with the design. You can check if there are no mistakes in the artwork and, last but not least, if there are no spelling mistakes left unnoticed.

The latter is just as important as the graphic design. The eye responds differently to printed material than to a screen, where oversights are more likely. In the era of viral spreading of information online, you do not want your product to provide fuel for the sticklers to accuracy.

Colors on the screen differ from the final result on posters, catalogs or presentation folders. A screen emits light in the RGB system, while prints are created through the application of paint to the base materials – in the CMYK system or more specialized technology, like Pantone. Monitors have various color settings, so there are differences even between the same design displayed on two different monitors.

Order digital proofing if you want to be sure that the printing effect will satisfy a client with strict color requirements, remain faithful to the corporate identity and match the advertising campaign run before or concurrently in other media.

What is digital proofing?

PDigital proofing is a special printed output that bears maximum resemblance to what the printer should achieve on the printing machine in terms of color fidelity. It serves as a model for the printer to properly set and align the printing machine. A color sample is also referred to as “color proof”.

A sample printout presents the final output of the printing shop’s work – this way, you can be certain that the result will be as planned, without any unintended effects.

Color proofing is usually done for the most important pages of the design, e.g. the cover, a whole-page advertisement or the most representative page of an article or publication. Color proofing makes it possible to assess the final result of printed catalogs, flyers or posters. It is particularly crucial for large-volume orders – especially with a demanding client. It gives you the certainty that you have done all you could to ensure high-quality prints consistent with the design.

In theory, at least one color proof per printing sheet should be prepared. In practice, fewer are made due to the high cost. Alternatively, you can order one color proof that includes a set of the most important or the most characteristic pictures or other graphic elements on one sheet.

  • A1 – 594 x 841 mm
  • A2 – 420 x 594 mm
  • A3 – 297 x 420 mm
  • A4 – 210 x 297 mm
  • A5 – 148 x 210 mm
  • B2 – 480 x 680 mm
  • B3 – 336 x 480 mm

You can also order a proof in a custom format, provided that it is within the following range:

  • width from 10 cm to 250 cm
  • height from 10 cm to 60 cm

The maximum order volume for digital proofs available from Chroma is ten proofs.

WDigital proofs for orders processed by the Chroma.pl online printing shop are only prepared from files submitted by the client to the printing shop’s system. You cannot send your own proof any other way.

  • Digital proofing is based on Chroma’s reference profile.
  • The Delta E color difference may be +/- 5 units per color.
  • A digital proof reflects only the colors of the work.
  • The objects of the work (especially fine lines below 0.7 mm) may differ versus the print from the offset machine.

Digital proof is currently available on two types of Supreme paper of a grammage 190 g:

  • coated paper, which simulates art paper
  • uncoated paper, which imitates offset paper, used, e.g. for letterhead stationery, desk pad calendars, books or printed non-serial publications.

An uncoated digital proof is calibrated correctly and is consistent in terms of color with printouts from offset machines. Special certified paper guarantees true colors in conformity with ISO 12647-7 standards.
